The key to getting more power from a Cosworth engine is running a higher boost pressure. The more boost you can run with, the more power the engine will produce. The trade off is in heat production. There is also the matter of what the engine does off-boost, namely turbo lag. On a racing track lag is not a problem, but its not an option on a road car. Basically it's a question of compromise. You don't have to make any changes to the Cossie's suspension, but the standard set up is a little on the soft side and if you want to get as much from the chassis as you are looking to from the engine, a set of Koni Sport shocks and some Eibach springs, lowering the car just a touch, and a set of POWERFLEX polyurethene bushings will improve thing's no end. And also it might be wise to invest in some wider alloys and some descent rubber.

Stage One

1.Reprogrammed Management Chip.

2.Uprated waste gate.

3.Higher Temp. Spec spark plug's.

4.Air induction Kit.

This raise's the boost from the standard cars 9psi to between 13&15psi, and the reprogrammed chip remaps the fuel injection rate and ignition timing. Power should increase to about 280bhp and 260lb/ft of torque.Depending on where you purchase this would require about IRP400 of your hard earned dosh!

Stage Two

1.Reprogrammed Management Chip.

2.Uprated waste gate.

3.Higher Temp. Spec spark plug's.

4.Air induction Kit.

5.3 Bar Map sensor

6.Green Injectors(increased flow rate)

7.Group A competition head gasket.

Runs at around 18psi and makes 320bhp 295lb /ft torque. This will set your spending to over a IRP1000!

Stage Three

1.Reprogrammed Management Chip.

2.Uprated waste gate.

3.Higher Temp. Spec spark plug's.

4.Air induction Kit.

5.3 Bar Map sensor

6.Green Injectors(increased flow rate)

7.Group A competition head gasket.

8.Wire ringed block.

9.Hybrid Turbo (Garrett T35).

10. 3 Inch Mongoose exhaust system with RS500 exhaust manifold.

Runs 20-22 psi and makes 345bhp and 310lb/ft torque. This is about as far as you can go before open heart (and not to mention wallet!) surgery is required. To get to this level just gather up about IRP2000! Sound's like alot but the power and torque are serious!

Stage 4

RS500 intercooler, hi pressure cooling system, swirl water pots and crankcase breather system.

1.low compression pistons.(mahle)

2.Reprofiled camshafts.

3.Modified gas flowed head.

4.Grey Injectors(high flow rate).

5.Blueprinted engine.

6.Upgraded ECU(2wd)

7. 4-branch exhaust manifold

8.You can go to 440bhp and 400lb ft of torque with a stage four conversion. With higher boost pressure from the T35 turbo(around 28psi) and a carefully gas flowed head and engine internals being balanced, this makes for a very refined and smooth running engine!
